Thanks. It has been one helluva duck season. Seen more pintails this year then ever before out this way, plus we were looking for them more so that must help. But even now theres a lot of pintails still in the fields which is a good thing to see.

I always try to target or take prime examples of atleast 1 or 2 puddle ducks a season to have mounted. One in a dead mount, other in a nice pose of some sort. It will take a few more years but I will have a barn door with all puddle duck species hanging dead mount on it.

Thats too bad about not getting out. You have plans to get out for brant in the bay?

Very nice, I am really starting to like those dead mounts myself.

Although my time out hunting was limited this season, I agree Crazy Farmer there were a lot more Pintails. I like the way you get your birds done and you'll probably need a barn door.

I think I can find one or two out in the barns hahaha

Matt tore this down off one of the hay loft doors. Been there for 60-70 years before taken down.

looks good man!! My skinny assed neck sprig is at the grey hound. Im hoping his neck fattened up on the trip from back east.

Nothing worse then not being happy with a mount

You're a funny guy Lorne. But I gotta agree getting a bird back that looks unnatural is such a shitty feeling. I always bring pictures and say I want it to look exactly like this. Worked out the majority of the time so far.

If you get an extended season you can shoot all the mature sprigs you'll ever need haha
