Nice video camera you got your self. The deer that was behind that 4x4 looked like it had already shed...there were white looking spots right where the antlers would have been. 33 second mark the one feeding.

Yes you are right Shaun there where a couple that had dropped there head gear in this video clip ,I saw a WT yesterday in the same herd that it had one spike only on its head the other one was gone..

For the lighting with it bright in the back and the deer standing in the shade the video turned out very well.Lighting always is a issue with nature videos experiment with different light situations to better prepare yourself to know what works and what doesn't/Dusk dawn sky lined thick bush, your camera may have different settings to deal with these situations.

Wayne. Sort of looks like the deer are feeding off something someone has put down. Do you think they are just feeding on grass or has someone thrown down some nice rolled corn? I'm hoping that many deer are a ways from Cranbrook.

Most WT I've seen still have their head gear. But February is here. They'll start dropping in a couple of weeks. Valentines day.

Yes you are correct J-T this lady feeds the deer every day at around 4pm I have to stop and do a bit of filming before I feed the horses there are a few deer in this herd that have already lost there antlers they are smaller deer ,very interesting wake up call for me I always thought that the bigger deer for the WT species loose there antlers first boy was I in correct the video says it all.

So is the video software easy to use? My complaint with the older Everios is that the format of the video isn't easy to work with and you need video conversion software to make it compatable to edit or play on windows media and windows movie maker.

Videos look nice and clear.
An upgrade is in the works for me...one of these years.

You are so right S S S I spent 20.00 on DVD-R trying different ways to make the clips clear when transferring them to a DVD from my clips I finally went to the store and got two DVD+RW.
I tell you this was no fun my hours spent to finally figure all out was around 30 + hours I had to take a time out late in the day and have an appetizer of whiskey to settle my mind LOL.

My new JVC HD does not let me drag the movie clips into the windows 7 DVD maker it is outdated and does not reconize MP-4 Peg the new camera has (MP-4 peg) built into it so this is what I found out after many hours of trial and error ,I found a free program on the Internet called (Augart Video Converter) and then loaded it onto my windows 7 then found another free converter called (K_Lite mege Codec pack 8.2.0) then loaded it onto my computer.

I then used Augart Converter to Convert my Movie Clips the best formate that I used was DVD to DVD was the clearest format convertion.

Start To Finish..
#1 Open up Augart.
#2 Drag movie clips into window box.
#3 Select DVD to DVD for format.
#4 Then convert your movie clip.
#5 Close out program.
#6 Then open up the new folder that you converted.
#7 There will be a list of Video_TS ETC pick the Video_TS copy past it on your screen this will convert into VOB 321 VTS_01_1.
#8 Then open up DVD Movie maker .
#9 Then drag VOB 321 VTS_01_1 into your DVD movie maker and other movie clips then burn you are done..

One thing about this new camera is once I have converted them over to Augart the clearness is not as good as from the original clip here is a clip without converting and then after converting the top link is without converting the bottom link is after converting..

#1 This clip HD using UXP before conversion ,,,,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8rlN2I1mU8
#2 This clip HD using UXP after conversion ,,,,,,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UItPvUCc-EE
#3 This clip HD using XP before conversion,,,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yUCB6RU7-c
#4 This clip HD using XP after conversion,,,,, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87E-4COq4L0

This gives you and me an idea what the movie clips look like before conversion and after conversion ,I zoomed the scene you see to about 50% in the tree was about 100 meters out I left the zoom in the same on all four clips I posted up ..
