I'm buying a gps in the near future and have narrowed my choices down to the Garmin GPSMap 62s and the Oregon 450. They are very similar units with the main difference being buttons on the 62s and a touchscreen on the Oregon. I'm having a tough time deciding on which unit to pick. They both have good reviews and I like the convenience of the touchscreen so I'm kinda leaning towards the Oregon.

Does anyone have any pros/cons from there own experiences regarding these 2 units? Thanks for any info/advice you can offer!

Buy the 62s. Touchscreen doesn't work well if wet

We have the Oregon 450 and love it... Gets used in all weather conditions, for geocachacing, fishing, 4x4ing, hunting.. you name it... Have never had an issue with the touchscreen at all.. I highly reccomend it..

If you ever plan to use it with gloves on then go for the buttons.

I have the montana and have been out a couple times getting the hang of it. It is amazing. Have used both units, touch and bottons no problem with either. I think the issue for you is screen size.
Good luck.

I'm thinking KISS theory!!! "Keep is simple stupid" LOL The touch screen might work on your Ipad in the home, but a GPS in the woods in rainy cold BC not so sure. Maybe a generation or two down the road, they might be worth a look.
