Before bed last night it was snowing pretty good and i couldnt miss the morning hunt. So my 9 year old daughter and i got up at 4 am to load my hounds and hit the hwy to meet buddy and his hounds

When we finally arrived to the area it was snowing hard, generally I like the snow to stop or calm down but we pushed on through hoping a cat would cross... 25 km down the road cougar tracks crossed the road. The pads we pretty visable with the amount of snow falling. we collared up the hounds and sent them off... 2 minutes later while getting our personals sorted out we notice the cougar crossing the road in front of us and the hounds were in pursuit! The cat went up a steep mnt treeing only 300-400 yards as the crow flys.

The hike in was fun, my daughter slid back down a few feet a few times but enjoyed every minute of it. At the tree she was a little nervous because the cat was hissing and growling

To bad she wasn't old enough or she would have shot the Tom

Very cool! A cougar is definitely on my "bucket" list. What a great experience to share with your daughter. Thanks for posting.

What's respectable?

You gonna rug it or mount it?

Must have been cool to see the dogs chasing it!

7ft, Tom, Region 2

no im not getting the cat mounted or into a rug. Adding the skull to my cat collection and eating the meat. Its gotta be big for a rug.
