With the success of the herd in the Upper Squamish and a small herd plus the 8 they just released in the Mamquam drainage, we were told via mail correspondence at the SVRGC that there is a possibility of an LEH for elk somewhere in the Sea to Sky corridor. Most likely the Upper Squamish as that herd is now over 50 animals.

Quite a turnaround this year. I saw elk on four different occasions.

a few years ago me and a bud ran up the indian river in my sled, we saw elk lots of elk.......but we seen 2 dead elk that had been shot.
we later ran into 3 native fellows, they were quite polite and armed . they asked us if we would not come back up here.

We Heli-logged up near Tantalus Creek, saw some absolute monsters. Have a very beefy 7pt shed I found on a sandbar in that area.

On the contrary. Rosies were native to these drainages in the past. Human activity and hunting pressure drove them out. Apparrently all of the transplant herds are doing incredibly well. I have heard about the possibility of more going into the Chehalis/Harrison are. And yes we will be getting LEH opportunity where possible on these herds.
