I know you'll find this picture of a rare spotted bull moose entertaining....would you cut your tag on this fellow or would you let him walk??

Here is his momma

I'd give him a few more spots from my Marlin.

Kidding. I believe the Regs still request us not to shoot them. Have always had white moose hanging around my place, especially in the winter, they like to hang out down in the poplars. There's a white cow with twin calves around this year, one white, and one white with brown legs.

So long as he fits the antler regulation he's dinner. If people, especially us hunters, start giving them some special regard that's only due to a genetic screw up. The sooner you'll be reading regs about "spirit moose"

I assume you're just asking the question Hypothetically as these pictures have been floating around the internet for years and are not from the interior of BC. As for the question, I think I'd have to let them walk as the flack that would come from the taking of such a rare specimen would be too much for me. Now if he had a huge rack, the dilemma would be greater

Are there any legal reasons not to shoot a "spirit moose"? I don't know so wouldn't shoot....besides, I can't afford the taxidermy it would merit!

You guys are starting to sound like closet "tree huggers" Now before you roast my butt, THAT'S SARCASM!!!! But on a serious note, they really only are the product of a genetic twist of fate, the more they are free to bread and lock in the gene, the more we're going to see them. It's the same scenario we've lived with the white phase bears on some rock on the coast. Yet if they were a distinct breed, we wouldn't be finding them in various pockets of BC.

I can't believe you guys are even debating shooting these.
Another example of short-sightedness and selfish thinking.
May as well just send the anti's a bunch of money, and your guns.
Forget about the fact that this is a rare symbol of nature's beauty.
Understand that just because you can, doesn't mean you should shoot.
Live and let live I say.
Leave these animals for others to enjoy.
Otherwise, it may be too late to save them as they might be all gone.
Forgetfulness is what pushed bison, grizzlies and fur-bearing snakes to extinction.
Shame on the self-centered, trigger happy jerks wanting to shoot these.
How do you expect the hunting community will get respect with that outlook?
I for one, would let them walk.
To those who would pull the trigger...I say shame on you.

Save them from what Fubberfist? They are a "GENETIC MISTAKE" 50 years from now there may be another one show up only because the parent's have that same gene and the timing was right. How many are born to brown normally looking mothers and abandoned because they "don't look right?" Animals don't appear to have a conscience like us do good-er humans, and mother nature can be a real bitch some days!!!

If it met the reg requirements it would be shot. Why would you hunt at all if you had views like that? Should non typical deer not be shot then?

First of all I would wipe my scope again to make sure I wasn't seeing things. But...

I'd save them just for the tourist factor. Eco-tourism is huge for this province.

Also, think of the potential repercussions from CS's "Spiritual" thread. It may be bad karma to take it.

Canuckshooter, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I thought my comments were self evdent, but I suppose you didn't understand.

You embarrass yourself when you put up these threads. You see something in an email or on the internet and immediately think it's true or there is some big controversy. I dont care if you want to mock my profession. Actually, it's funny when you try to do so, becuase you embarrass yourself there, too.

You post these threads and want to start some little tempest in a teapot, like some teenage girl.

You put up an avatar showing your bare ass.

Your title says "twice banned"

You are a drama queen. Everything you do is to try to provoke some reaction, and when you don't get the reaction you want, or your thread gets locked, you pout like a little girl, and try to start more shit.

That's what I am commenting on.

You wanted to know. ;)
