Well headed out to princeton for the start of the any buck season saterday night. saw lots of does the first couple of days but no for sure bucks.monday morning we get on the dirtbikes and are haeading down a road and we stumble into some deer inclueding a nice 3 pt. I hope off my bike and load up so fast as to startle the buck and send him runing befour i can get a shot . in camp that afternoon i formulate a plan to park the bikes befour we seen the buck walk up to the cut at the end of the road and glass it untill the sun goes down then creep downt the forested part of the road in hopes of comeing up onto the buck.Well after sittting and glassing for two hours i see something white moving on the top of the cut i get the glasses on it to see three 4 points and a doe graizing. i extend teh bipod and range it out and as soon as one of the bucks gave me a shot (250yds) bang! all i see is bucks runing into the forest. I scale the cut and arive where i had seen the bucks exit and scan around for a blood trail.after scaning for a little while im starting to get down on myself thinking that i missed when i see the rearend of a muley pokin out of a hole Yeee haaaw! i get over as fast as posible to see my buck never took a step as i hit dead on heart and lungs.

Ya hes definatly a heavy deer. draging him downhill was horific due to the trees being riped out instead of cutdown creating huge holes everyhere that the deer kept sliding into as i was draging him down to the road.

Nice buck, congrats to ya! As far as the weight goes, 300lbs is probably a bit of an over-estimate. Looks like a younger deer, I'd say about 175-200 is more in the ballpark ...:frown: .....sorry, hope I'm wrong.

Still better than dragging up hill in the same terrain.
