That is a sweet find! My understanding, though, is you may be required to give it up. Hopefully you get to keep it. I'm sure someone will fill you in on the rules.

Call the CO's and then they will ask you to bring it in for the annual auction

Yes you can get permits to keep found wildlife but for anything the government can sell just like those sheep horns a permit won't be issued.
They will however offer to sell them to you at a ridiculous price.

Yep, some things are best left off HBC. It's not uncommon to see "pick ups" in collections but not posted on here!

I guess the only ethical thing to do is return them where I found them and let the coyotes decide:)

Next time you find something like that leave it where it is and then call the CO's and tell them what you found and ask them if you can keep them if you cut your tag.

You could do that then ask if you can keep them if you cut a tag.If they ask where they are you can tell them in the bush.

Propose something illegal and then withhold information from a C.O.???

sounds like a great idea......good luck with that.

Maybe someone should start a thread about the do's and don't's and legalities of finding dead wildlife, including sheds etc. We can all learn something, hold hands, and think pure thoughts.
