Wolf killed in 7-8

Got this small female wolf while moose hunting in 7-8 back in October. Our hunt was seriously hampered by the wolves this year, howling all around us on many days. Cured the hide with salt, will be bringing to get tanned in new year.

250 yrd shot with 7mm rm 160 grn TSX.

Nice black, well done. I've seen them from almost white, to jet black. For some reason, the blacks seem far more sinister than the grays. When bicycling down the Alaskan Highway, we saw a huge gray watching us at camp, and a pure black sitting on the side of the highway, seemingly unconcerned as he waited for us to go by.

My son got one this year and it is being made into a rug at a cost of $1,000.- not cheap.

^^^ Yup, right around the 200 dollar mark. My bear rug cost me $1300 a few years ago. That included tanning. I would imagine a wolf rug would be cheaper as they price it out by the square foot. Also depend on how many holes and cuts in the hide they have to fix.
