Nice shot.
I've done that with carbons too.

You have the same problem I do. You need to shoot a little worse, purposely. I find that if I really try I just keep hitting my arrows, so I purposely aim around them now. This is from like 50 yards too right? Sometimes I think there are magnets on the front and backs of my arrows.

I have clipped them lot's of times, but this is the only one I have sunk. I have never shot carbons, always thought the would sort of shatter when this happens. 50 yds. Yah, that's it.

You should consider switching to carbons. The benefits are definitely there.

Carbons don't shatter - they just split. Either way the arrows - both Al. and carbon are useless afterwards, wxcept for ornaments.

Even though it was an 'accident' I was still kinda pumped to do it.

I shot this at 50m/55 yards during a 900 round. That's an Easton FMJ. The best of both worlds!

Speaking of Myth Busters............anyone else hear of the problems they had while filming an episode about smooth bore cannons? I just caught the tail end on CBC radio last week - they were firing shot (12 lb balls) out of a cannon and apparently the shot went right over the target and got away from them, bouncing down a city
street and doing some damage.

Sorry for the lack of detail, but I figure that someone else might have heard the same story and have more details. Pretty funny, none the less.

I tubed a guys Fat Arrow ... I think it was an X-cutter with an ACE once ... it was neat watching the fletches get sheared off (X cutter is a fat arrow ... the ACE was a skinny lil' knittin' needle )

really ... Holy lucky Batman ... those two arrows are about 10 grains differant in weight just looking at the Fletches (first with Zeon Fusions ... the second with Flex Fletches)

BS luck or Not (most of mine were just that ... BS luck ) .. still a really cool thing to happen ... Gets painfull on the pocket book tho after a while

That was with my hunting setup too. 70lb pull. 420 grain arrow at 296fps. Almost buried that arrow up to the fletches. I was very surprised cause I'm usually blowing fletches off at the 40m range. Not the 50!! Sits in my hinting room like a trophy now.

My brother uses only Aluminum arrows at Vegas.

Heavy, slow, shoot-able all day long, and above all accurate!

Practicing for senior games this summer I did this at 30 meters.
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f35/imvader2/30meter.jpg
I only had 7 of these CX400's left so this kinda screwed using the six.. So I chopped up some 7595's and went to forty meters. First 2 arrows..
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f35/imvader2/40meter.jpg
I hate the sound and as said.. the cost...
Unfortunately I never shot as well as I should have. Pulling 72lbs 320 times a day, (practice and equipment problems), for 3 days was a few arrows more than I had prepared for. Hunting rigs in these competitions are not the ideal setup. Oh and you should really check the range setup for meters or yards. Can't go from thinking your shooting yards when its actually in meters and expect good scores.

JFYI ;) We had a couple of compound shooters in camp at 35 yards testing each other but it was the long bow shooter who stepped up at 35 yards and split his own arrow.

I made my first "Robin Hood" many years ago and I still get upset just thinking about the waste of two perfectly good arrows and the money they cost. Since then I make sure to pick a different spot on the target for each arrow. The Arrows hang on the wall over my desk as a reminder to never to do that again.

Oh we did check the range for meters cause its my range and he did shoot it for yards cause he's that good with a hunting rig !!
You wanna be good at 3d or hunting ?? be good at target shooting, get your form impecable and repetitive first............
it'll improve your game even with a ''hunting rig'' !!
