Hey thanks... Definately let me know if they have them... I saw WSS had them in their catalogue but not online... Does WSS have a range or anything to try firing bows?

7 yard range. Used only for drawing & measuring arrow cut length.
However, a couple in the bag wouldn't hurt it.

Nope... never had a bowtech... I like the assassin for several reasons... Its got great reviews, its in my price range, I like the look of it, bowtech has a great reputation for quality bows... do I need to continue?

As far as I know (been in there a few times) all the bows in WSS in Nanaimo are zap-strapped so you cannot pull back on them. You can handle them, but you can't draw them - it's protection against dry firing.

Talk to Rick - (358win) on here. He'll be able to help you, if he's working that day.

If you want to shoot a compound bow and get the full effect of its capabilities I highly recommend shooting with a release and a D-loop.

BChoyt. Let me know what time you expect to be there boxing day and I'll meet you there.
Like Bow Walker said, bring your release. If the bow doesn't have a D-loop, I'll put one on.

Now that's service for you! Way to go Rick.

So id better just get used to useing a release is what your saying . never heard of a D-Loop . i guess i will look it up .

Bow Walker

The D-loop attaches to the string so that the release isn't contacting the string and wearing it out with each shot. The downside is that it decreases your draw length by the length of the loop.

Oneof the best style of releases is a hook-style like the one below...

So . Avoid a D loop if possible ?. and once again im a finger tab user ! . lol .But im sure if i spent some time with a release i will start to like it . i did have one many years ago . lost it somewhere, didnt care because i was hooked on finger tabs . i do remnber they were touchy tho . i remnber sending a arrow or two flying in all directions !. lol

with an axel to axel of just under 31" ... you would need a 20 inch draw to shoot an assasin with fingers ....

if you are hell bent on using fingers .... look at bows with a 37" or better axel to axel to avoid string pinch ... otherwise ... get used to using a release aid ..... Key to avoid misfires is not to have your finger on the trigger untill you are at full draw

Well I also picked one up a couple weeks ago from an ebay auction. The bow came new in the box with all the goodies from Grouse River Outfitters in Kelowna. I paid $525.00 no tax.

Speaking of targets - try to find a http://www.bulldogtargets.com/ target. They're great. Been pounding the crap outta one for two or three years now - still in very good condition.
