Congrats Darcy, you guys have been doing well on the cats. The one on the 15th is a buddy of mine, it was fun getting daily updates from him on his adventure. It certainly is becoming a hunt that is more and more appealing to me.

Had a good hunt with Him. He deffinatly got the full adventure the day we got his cat. 4hrs to box the cat in, 5kms to run the dogs in behind the sled. Then a good run through two valleys to end up with a great cat. Then try and get the cat, 7 hounds, 5 guys out 6km with just 3 skidoos and no sleighs. Hope he enjoyed it as much as we did helping him out. Good to see it worked out after the were screwed over by a ignorant houndsman the days before.

Great looking cats! if you run out near home, try south of Medicine Hat. I had a muley draw there this year but the ranchers told me not to waste my time and money because of the tough winters and cats. One guy said he found three fresh kills near his house a day or two before I called.

Amazing adventure!! Great looking cats I'm just curious I thought it was illegal to use snowmobiles while cougar hunting in Alberta. Is that correct or just a misconception?? Sweet pics though. I don't really care just wondering what the law has to say I tried to find something that says no snowmobiles but couldn't find anything. Just lookin for help from the experts thanks guys!!

Its totally legal to use ski doos to hunt cats as long as the areas are open to motorized vehicles. A few zones have Forest Land Use Areas that are closed to motorized vehicles, and a few that have only seasonal designated trail systems. But in the foothills where we hunt there are no restrictions.

Now that you've killed them what are you going to do with 'em? I must admit they are a pretty good size and I sure wouldn't want one of them hanging off my back!!!

For starters they are good eating and secondly they make one of the nicest mounts available in North America.
