I am heading up to my cabin in 5-2 over the holidays and thought I would see if I could remove a wolf or two from the region. I have never hunted wolves before and would like some help and suggestions regarding tactics and area.

Cheers.

cover ground and look for fresh tracks. Even where you find fresh sign, they'll likely be long gone, maybe 20 KM away. Wolves are damn hard to "hunt".......but good luck! Try some rabbit squallin' on the edge of small lakes, set up so the wind carries your scent across the open ice so anything circling downwind will be forced to expose itself.

I hunted 5-2D Nyland Lake area in 2008 for deer, seen lots of wolf tracks. Shot a coyote. No shortage of predators! good luck and shoot straight

Get a hound bay'n and you should be able to lure one out.

todbartell is right on in the method of hunting them as well as the area, there is lots of wolves there.
I would try howling as well, I have had them respond to me and I did not think I was doing that good a job at making the right noise but it worked

Gotta be ready at all times. If you see one, you won't have much time.

Good luck!
