Wow! You'd figure that will be me in the next 5 years if you'd listen to my dentist. I'm starting to put them right up there with politicians and lawyers.

Back to the cat. Was he big/skinny/old/young?? What? Tell us more. We all love cat stories and that is one thing we really don't get enough of on here. Most guys are scared to admit they've got dogs because they are too scared of getting hounded by everybody on here!
The cats outta the bag now cause we all know you's a huntin' em!!!

It seems that all the the old bob cats that we get have busted teeth.

What do BC bobcat usually eat? Main food sources? What are they breaking their teeth on?

This female is big and old. I've been told that their teeth weaken with age and not a sign of their diet.

Bobcats can kill prey much bigger than themselves, but usually eat rabbits, birds, mice, squirrels, and other smaller game.

I once caught a lynx with a broken tooth she was a juvenile !

Last year i met a HBC member looking to get out with a local fellow houndsmen to run his young Bluetick with a pack of experience hounds. Wes was very active on training his hound a few hours per week with scent drags and wanted her to develop treeing longer etc... . We hunted a few times last winter and his hound did pretty good and was welcomed to the group. Over the Spring i ran his hound for him on bears with the pack and I saw the improvement, she was doing really good! This Winter she was at the tree on the Lynx i shot...

So on Saturday Wes and i went to a local area we hunt looking for tracks....there were tonnes! so many it hard to judge what was what...so we drove the circuit stomping out tracks in case the snow didnt come as planned over night. Sunday morning we met up with a another fellow member Diggerdogger and houndsmen and trained up the road to do the circuit on the fresh dusting of snow that came with our wishes! We drove hours and hours with nothing new...we decided to drive the road out and hope something crossed. Half way down Diggerdogger decides to pull out and make his way home. He was beat tired and had a late night. Wes and i continued down looking for tracks. A few KM's down there it was..Bobcat tracks crossing the road. Wes and i were pumped and happy to have fresh tracks! Wes collared up young hound to try her on her own cat track by herself....he walked her on the track a ways and she wanted it badly... he unclipped her and she was gone. We sat back and watched her on the tracking system to see where the trail was taking her and then she stopped and was sitting. A minute later she was on the move again taking chase for another 200 yards and is sitting again not treeing....? We watch the system for a few more minutes and decide that its time to head in and look. I decided to stay at the truck with the puppies that were in the hound box with the older hounds. Wes loaded up and went in to see what if his young hound pulled it off. 45 minutes pass and im watching my tracking system seeing that his hound is coming down to the road. I look and see them coming down with the bobcat over his shoulder! His Bluetick did it! treed her own cat!
