This season we picked up an 18x24 canvas tarp from Princess...it was made in China and started to separate and it leaked.....so we returned it.

Since we are now in the market for a new 'quality' canvas tarp in the same size does anyone have any leads on a good supplier?? We are considering ordering one from the USA and getting a buddy to pick it up [less expensive for same quality]......but would prefer to deal here in Canada if we can.

Yep. Even the corners (4 ply) with the grommets pull apart.

I can sell you a canvas tarp made of 10.10 weave marine grade cotton Sunforger treated for Water, Mildew, and Fire... same stuff we use in our tents... best you can buy at any price. We would use brass grommets and double stitching. Not sure if that is going to be strong enough for your purposes?

We use it to tarp our cooking area, can you pm a price for 18x24?

$650. What? It's 30 yards of canvas, plus 6 seems, plus reinforcements on the sewn edges, plus the grommets. About the same effort and cost to make a 12x14 tent! Also, you will need to store it perfectly dry just like a tent!

Or can sell you a high quality heavy tarp for $125.

[I]Try a boat upholstery shop. There are different grades and colors of canvas available. They can sew snaps, grommets or edging or what have you. Just a suggestion. Custom to your needs.

Hermits price is good. I own an upholstery/marine shop and I would not sew that size of a tarp for that price. Thats top of the line canvas and looked after will last many many years. Just saying.
