Bear Lake or bust

Well the trailer is loaded and hooked to the truck, my hunting buddies will pick me up after midnight and we are off to Bear Lake (7-16, 7-23) for a couple of weeks. I am so looking forward to crawling around the swamps!! Between myself and partners we have 1 bull and 2 cow draws plus 2 grizz draws should be very interesting. Will take lots of pictures if and when we connect. Good luck to every body and we will catch ya in a couple of weeks Steve

you hate to saw guarantee, but i was up there last week and you are pretty much guaranteed to get the three moose (bull and two cows). lots of moose running around.

not sure about the bears, but i know it is a good area for grizz

we got back late Sunday night, we came home with a 3-4 year old bull ( was calling in to a swamp and he came down the hill behind me, he steped on to the road and it was all over) Tried unsucessfuly to fill the cow tags, saw them every where before the season opened up. But they all seemed to disappear after the 10th. If we would have had more bull tags we would have filled them, called out a few good sized ones. Found the whole area very dry the river was not floatable even in a zodiac so some haunts where unaccessable. We did have one major problem, about 60 km in we broke the tounge off the trailer (8x16 7000lb) so had to get fishplates bent and drilled to get this thing home. All in all it was a good trip, could have been more productive but hey thats hunting.
