region 7-12 elk leh help?

Hey all, lookin for a little help. Got a LEH for 7-12 Dec 15-Jan 15 and had a plan to hunt a friends bosses ranch. He called me and told me he just quit his job and didnt leave on the best terms. So now im stuck, and I dont know the area, bad planning on my part. The draw is for private land. Im wondering if anyone has any contacts out that way I might be able to try. Was planning on staying with my buddy in the prince george area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

can you hunt just outside of private property as well -up to like 1-2 km?

Yeah allowed 2 km around private land, but dont know the area, wouldn't know where to start.
