Got Engaged!!!! to the best hunting partner in the world!!

Just thought i would share my good news with the HBC crew. I got engaged on Friday Dec 2nd.

Her birthday was on Saturday Dec 3rd. so i had a plan. i would buy her a gun safe (thanks to Italian Sporting Goods) and i put the ring in the gun safe. So she got home from work at 5:30 and i had everything set up in the living room. gun safe covered with a blanket. she uncovered the gun safe, and was super happy!! easy part done. so i told her how to open the safe, and i had the box sitting on the top shelf. i know she seen it, but ignored it. she tilted her head down and starting looking at the bottom of the gun safe. Babe, i said, theres something else in there for you. and she hesitated to grab the box, she eventually did. and turned her back to me, and opened it. i was looking over her shoulder, and she said " Oh you got me a ring" "thats nice" haha no word of a lie. so i turned her around and took the ring and proceeded to go on one knee. and then she started balling her eyes out, and said YES !! of course. We are very happy. and look forward to many years to come, of hunting and fishing, and spending the rest of our lives together.

On i side note, I'm old fashioned and I did ask her father for permission. in which he gladly gave me permission. Great weekend. the best of my life so far!!!

Congrats, here is some advice for you that I got from my pops, and a bit I have learned on my own the hard way...

since she is a hunter, get married on a long weekend in hunting season, that way you have an excuse to go on a nice hunting trip every year for the rest of your life

2nd, if you have kids, be smart about "when" they will be born. Hunting season is the wrong season for that

Got hitched when in my 30’s(30 years in Dec. 2012). Never got engaged.(time was running out)
Eve was into outdoors right from the start. Her dad was an avid hunter & also had a farm so I had to learn from her. We are the best of friends & I would not think of going hunting without her.
