2011/12 wolf, cougar,bobcat,coyote and lynx picture thread

I thought I would start a picture thread for cougars, bobcats, lynx, wolves and coyote's either hunted or trapped during the 2011/12 hunting season. I will start searching for pictures from this spring and will post until licences expire in March. Feel free to add any I may miss.

Right now Wolf population is on the rise. As they have no natural predators it is our responsibility as hunters to keep their population in check. The hides are worth money. The carcass, I wouldn't eat myself. I'd put the protein back into the system.

Predator hunting primarily is about trophy hunting and conservation.


Fur prices have tanked in the last few years and as a result, Trappers have too.... And as a result of that, we have some serious population explosions happening right now that are putting some serious hurt onto other species (wildlife and domestic); Hence the generous seasons now allowed on some of these.

WTS, I absolutely LOVE the taste of cats - It has to be one of the BEST eating game species we have. But in all honesty, my pursuit of them isn't for their meat - That's just an added bonus. :wink:

Opening day we got this cat. Chase didnt go as planned so my camera was at the truck prior to harvesting the cat.
