Anybody been to the Maselpanick creek area in the skagit?

I am wondering about this are as I am going there next weekend and just wondering what the roads are like. I don't have 4x4 but am willing to walk for a while. Is it worthwhile or should I try another area in the Skagit. I haven't done well in the hunting this year as I haven't even seen anything in the last few weekends.

last weekend there was 6" of snow on the main road just after silver lake, dont know if it has melted or not this week. Maselpanick creek area climbs in elevation quickly if you follow the road.

Without 4x4 and good tires at that, you'll be walking a long time. If you can get past the lake you need to walk away from the road and hope your timing is good.

Thanks, for the info. I will let you know how I do there as I plan on doing a lot of walking this weekend. I really want something this year.
