About 20 years ago, I decided to give bow hunting a try, bought myself a nice new Bear compound bow, some broadheads, and a video. Then I promptly left the province (AND the bow). I plan on returning there in the spring and reclaiming the bow, unfortunately it's been sitting strung the entire time. Any idea what I could be up against? Is it worth it or can I simply replace the string and be good to go?

not worth it,, leave it on the wall, for what its worth you can buy a cheap compound and all the excessories for not to much at all, old bows just aren't worth it IMO, but they do look good on the wall just to see how far we have come.
cheers...D

I agree, it's a "wall hanger" now. Besides, you'd probably develop a hernia just trying to get to full draw.

The engineering on compounds has come light-years since the eighties. Do yourself a favor and look into a newer bow.
