G'day,
my name is Jason. I write to you from sunny Australia. I grew up hunting and with a great deal of interest into North american hunting, the species and the wilderness that you have.
Have decided I am going to make a trip over there and get amongst it and finally experience it. As it will be likely only be a one off and cost me many thousand dollars I want to take my time in selecting the location.
I hunt deer in Australia. (fallow deer) We do not hunt them in the rut as it is illegal so hunting them can be very hard due to there elusive nature. This is the type of hunting I enjoy most anyway. I would guess the species I am most interested in therefore, would be deer (whitetail and mule) as well as elk but really whatever is hardest to come by and stalk. I would also be interested in a hunting trip incorporating horseback hunting. I enjoy doing it tough and am most comfortable away from daily luxuries.
So the question is where would you go? Especially , knowing what you know now, you could go on one hunt only in north america? I have listed this question on the Alberta website also and received many comments. Also many people recommending places outside of their own province in private messages to avoid the controversy.
Look forward to any replies and thank you in advance.
many questions to follow about licensing and regulations but for now just want to zero in on a prime location.
Cheers,
Jason
