Saturday afternoon 4 Point Muley

My dad and I still had our Muley tags to cut since we passed on some smaller deer earlier in the season, so we got up super early and went hunting. We got to the area we were going to hunt for the day and didn't see very much sign of deer at all. We did some driving, some walking, some more walking and we saw no deer. A few tracks here and there but that was it. Three o'clock hit and we were just about at the spot we were going to sit for last light. We came around a turn and my dad says, "Deer! It's a four!." So I jumped out of the truck, put a shell in, got ready and..........Booom! I saw the buck along with three does walk over a bank and at first I thought I missed him. My dad on the other hand knew for sure that it was a good shot. We quicky parked the truck and looked over the bank to do some investigating. Sure enough, the deer was on the ground about 75 yards from where I shot him. Yes! :-D This is a day that I will never forget.

And this is why I cant wait to bring my 12 year old son out for youth season next year. I think I'll enjoy watching him more that shooting bucks myself. Good going!!
