Unless you got the leh for it there is no sheep hunting. If you did get the leh then go just about anywhere northwest of the loops and you're sure to fill that tag.

Kamloops lake was over 1200:1 odds this yr.
Go buy a tag and hit the Fraser or Spences where it's a GOS.

Good luck with that one.:-D.

In the mean time, you will be better off hunting a GOS area for sheep in 2012.

Look at the hunting synopsis and go were there is a season. Your chance of getting the Kamloops sheep draw is somewhere between slim and none. Plan your hunt around a GOS and put in for LEH. if you get a LEH then plan for that

I don't think he has any intention of getting the draw , I think he just has no idea where he can and can NOT hunt.

Don't worry about LEH draws just book it down to Spences Bridge
Theres whoppers hanging out all over the highway down there,it's easy huntin and a short drag to the truck ,on top of that not much pressure this time of year  I'm thinking you will have the place all to yourself !

Why don't you just ask someone to take you there. Be specific about your goals man. Ask someone to tie one down for you in the back 40.

150 yards uphill from the road so you can slide him down to the truck whole and be back in town for breakfast. Then do a life size.

I was hunting in the area where the sheep are last week. I was scouting around for a buck. I did walk up on this little Ungy.
He was not overly excited about me being around.

If you have your hunting license then you should have a hunting synopsis. Look in it. It will tell you were and when there are General Open Seasons. There is a lot of competition for sheep NO ONE is going to tell you exactly were to go. By the sounds of it you don't have much knowledge on sheep hunting. Do some reading on the rules and aging sheep.

All you gotta do is coax him into your truck and drive him over to SB, Kick him out, shoot him and put him back in;) Easy peezy.

How hard could it be to wrangle a sheep anyway?

Just go into the local watering hole in Kamloops and quietly offer 10G for a guided sheep hunt. Tell them you have cash in hand. Someone will help you out.

What exactly are you looking for, I've been following this along for a while, kinda chuckling to myself the whole time. A one line response or explanation will get you nowhere, especially with a spot to hunt sheep.

If you are a new resident hunter just looking for a spot to go sheep hunting, there is lots of info on here that you could look up very easily, if you are a non-resident and want to go sheep hunting, you will have to hire a guide and they all for the most part have their own websites or you can find their info very easy by just googling it.

Or are you just trying to stir the pot which some people are getting the impression as it is kinda odd some of the questions that you are asking. A little more info and a little more time here and you might get some info out of these guys, but probably nothing firm as to where a honey hole is as sheep hunters will probably not give you any of that info.

As you should know you will not be able to go sheep hunting this year as there is no season that is open so a little more info would be nice to see from your part. I would love to get a nice big bighorn myself one day and I will be doing it on my own with my own info gathered by myself and probably none of it will come from this site as most great spots for sheep are known by sheep hunters and they all know that in order to get a nice sheep you have to work at it and sometimes have a little luck as well.

If you hunt sheep around Lytton/ Spences make sure you use a 17hmr. Thats the locals choice for big rams as well as immy's. Not sure about 900 yds though.

For ten grand I'll take you sheep hunting for a dandy bighorn. Of course, hunting is not always about shooting, so if we don't get within 900 yards of a legal sheep, I'll just cut my fee in half, after al;l, fair is fair. Maybe you should send me the 5 grand now? Like a retainer?

Kamloops Indians Offer Sleeper Bighorn Sheep Hunt In British Columbia
Published: February - 2009

Here's a sleeper of a hunt. It's for California bighorn sheep with the Kamloops Indian Band of British Columbia. We first told you about this hunt in an E-mail Extra Bulletin in 2006, when the Kamloops Indians announced they were auctioning a sheep tag in their area for the very first time. The Kamploops have continued offering this tag each year since then and have consistently produced sheep in the 170-class. The Kamloops herd is the source of many California bighorns transplanted to the United States and the BC interior, and it has proven its genetics. Animals from this heard continue to supplement other areas today, with 28 sheep transplanted just last year. Before the Indian band began offering a permit three years ago, the sheep in their area had gone virtually unhunted, as they do not even allow subsistence hunting of these sheep by band members. Since the first permit, they have offered one permit for auction each year, along with a permit offered to BC residents through a drawing. The rams taken by nonresidents on these hunts include a 171 ram taken in 2006, a 179 ram taken in 2007, and a 175 field-scored ram taken in 2008. Sheep in the lower 180s have reportedly been spotted as well. California bighorn sheep tend to be smaller than Rocky Mountain bighorns, weighing as much as 50 pounds less and carrying shorter and less massive horns. Although they are not recognized as a subspecies of bighorn in the Boone & Crockett record book, California bighorns are listed in the SCI record book with a minimum score of 142. All of the rams taken with the Kamloops Indians would rank among the top 15 trophies of the SCI book.
The Kamloops Indian band's sheep and habitat management program is considered among the very best and has even won awards. The hunts they are offering are part of a five-year pilot program initiated to raise funds for their conservation activities. These include noxious weed control, burns, flight population surveys, etc. Their long-term goal here is to establish their own guide territory within their reserve.........(continued (http://www.huntingreport.com/hunting_article_details_ab_test.cfm))
