Been out for grouse twice this year, and about 3 times last season. Other than that, zero hunting experience.
Are the grouse out when it snows ?
Do you notice any different habits ?
Do you think the snow will change anything other than visibility ?
Opinions or experiences appreciated. Thanks

Great time to hunt Blues in the timber below the alpine with a few inches of fresh snow, they leave tracks just like deer (well except they have three toes not two) you will often catch them roosting during snow squalls. When the tracks dissapear, look up. Make sure you have a couple of deer loads in your belt, you'll prolly bump a monster buck outa bed.

Where have you been looking? South of Merritt has been particularly poor for the last few year. Saturday in and around Murray lake we saw one, still brown standing on 1ft of snow as the side of the road.

Saw this guy today while out searching for a buck. Also spooked three others.

They are there just a little deeper in the bush I find.

Great picture, thanks. Seems only region 2 is open for grouse after Nov.30, and have never hunted region 2 before. Dec.3 weekend I'll be taking my nephew out for his fist hunt and hope to have him shoot (dress and cook) his first birdy. Wish us luck.
