The plan....

8 greenheads with the 20ga which would be a 2 new one for me, yet to take 8 greenheads and never tried with the 20ga before. Seems I always have collateral damage or can't help but shoot another species... will power

Normally it's around #3 or #4 that collateral damage happens or I get weak....(no teal, woodies or pinnies in sight, and certainly no Euro's or Cinny's)

Now Zoe showed off her training on this one....Sailer that landed 100+ yards out, down through a wet spot and then up on a hill, full blind retrieve. She 2 whistled it! There is a reason to train at long distances and it happens 4 or 5 times a season....

And then it happened... Hit on the first shot, just pissed it off, then made an incredible 1 handed shot, behind and overhead while in the laydown and poofed, it...My bicep is still sore...but the happiness was shot lived as the magic of the waterfowl gremlins turned that boy into a girl!

And so the near perfect run was over, done, finito, toast.....

Was so pissed at myself that a hen cupped and locked 5 feet off the dekes just had to be put down, so I did....7 of 8 or 6 of 8, still not 8 for 8.........

Zoe did awesome, sometimes sitting as flock after flock worked us while we tried to pick drakes, the lighting was brutal, or my vision or both....

The 20ga is a F.A.I.R. made for Savage, sold as their Milano, I shoot it great, and apparently the mallards don't like it so much....

When seeking the elusive eight greenhead duck strap one must concentrate grasshopper.
