Maybe I am exaggerating but feels like I am up to about 100 doe sightings. Not one buck yet this year.
This tasty little ungulate was in my sights today, and many others, but no matter how log it sat there, it did not grow any antlers. I checked many times...Nothing.

Saw 3 does and one nice, stinky buck yesterday on our immy hunt. I'd say the buck : doe ratio is a healthy 33 : 100.

He was still cagey though compared to the does, and is why many don't see any bucks but lots of does. You need to know how to find the bucks lurking about when you see the does...too often people are distracted by the does while the buck dekes you out.

A quick scan to verify that the does are indeed does, then get probing deep into the timberline with GOOD binos (not Chinese crap, but good Euro-glass) to find signs of the buck. Look back at the does once in a while to see if they're looking at something, but don't get fixated on the does and miss the buck.

what F-D says, that's how i dropped my buck this season, not a rut buck [7th Oct], none the less the young fellow was still in with does.

I hunted all 3 days this long weekend. Out at dawn every day, and stayed out to twilight 2 of those 3 days. Darn it, saw 30 does. Still no buck! Unreal.
