I am new to hunting whitetails, and I am having a difficult time finding them during daylight hours. I am hunting a relatively open fir forest and I am wondering if I will find them bedded during the day up high on timbered ridges or should I be looking in the creek bottoms and cedar trees. I looked in the cedars today and there wasn't alot of sign. Any tips on landformations or vegetation that will help locate one of those fellows in the day would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
