He or she should have been in bed for a while now. Typical of grizzlies to be searching at this time for a meal, but a black bear. Must be the global warming thing.

around here the black bears can often stay awake until mid December or later, it's been that way since the twelve years that i have lived here. the BB maybe the big cinnamon bear i saw in July, who knows ..... but i have my BB licence and i'm going back to check :).

you know something, i get a real joy at seeing very fresh largish sized bear foot prints in the snow.

sadly no, i had an elderly hunter with me, so the timing was not great, but we did follow the tracks until he took off into the forest, another 100 yards or so.
