It only took 18 years to get dad out moose hunting since we moved out of the Yukon. This was his first in bc ,it took allot of convincing to get dad out there cause he dosen't like hunting where there are allot of people [was shot in hunting accident ] . three of us put in leh 's and all got drawn , one week before the hunt our third had to cancil leaving just the two of us.
oct 1 we left my house at 11 am and were on our way north. arrived at our destination late on the 2nd and next morning went to look for a place to camp as this was our first time in this area.

day one of hunting was scouting and calling
day two same
day three had it down to three areas we were concentrating on ,there was some movment but still no moose seen

day four a change we decided to watch the river for the morning , at 11 am went back to camp for lunch . 1 pm back at the river , while we were gone big moose tracks in our tracks missed him by 30 min . stayed till dark more calling just before dark but he wouldn't come out . day five back at the river at sun up calling , 10 am no show on the moose. dad sugests we look over the areas we concentrated on earlier. first spot we look all of a sudden there he is. it was like a scene off swamp people dad with his french accent yells ''choot it, choot it'' but ihave no shot!!! the moose is on the run dad grabs the moose horn and barks he stops turns his head i shoot ! he rears up turns 90 deg and starts runing dad yells choot it again , i shoot and he drops on the spot!!! he' s down all that took about 5 sec to unfold no time to think just shoot , we ranged him where he droped 192 yards

My sons 2011 moose out of 5-4. Bumped 4 in one group..cow and calf..big bull and this guy. All the points were freshly worn off and broken from pushing around and playing with the bigger bull. One shot thru the lungs at 65 paces with 270 win and 140gr TSX. walked 5 paces and fell over,.
