Starting to see some northern mallards here in the Valley, I guess the colder tempratures up north is moving them down the Coast.
Picked up a nice drake last night as the only bird to decoy into the Robo.
Went out for the evening flight this evening and had a few more chances but did not shoot that well on 6 easy shots however 2 hens and a drake came to hand.
We sure are enjoying the corn fed birds this season but I have seen some starting to feed on dead pink and chinook salmon in our local rivers.:icon_frow
Reminds me of the days many moons ago when I hunted at Cow Bay and Chemainus River flats when we got "fishy" ducks.
In the early sixties I remember getting 8 mallards, at the small bay and everyone was full of chum eggs.
