Our group of 4 (including myself) got back last Thursday night from hunting area 6-08 during the general open season. The only moose shot were the ones I shot with the camera. This is the first time in 11 years of moose hunting that our group did not get a moose. It was also the 4th time we hunted this area. Heck, we didn't even see a bull. Talking with other hunters gave us the idea that it was pretty slow for most camps and that we weren't the only ones to get skunked. Here are the pics of the cow and calf moose I saw on the other side of a pond and pics of a moose that decided to swim away from me.

Cow moose with small calf.

It has been really slow up here you are not the only ones that I heard of getting skunked and reg 6-08 has had a lot of FN pressure this year.I talked with a CO here and he has check a lot of camps with nil.Better luck next year.

Got nothing here as well. We were up along the morice river area/Lampray creek. Slow up there as well.

So was I. Stayed at morice lake rec site. Talked to the CO's and they had checked almost 30 camps they said and only 5 bulls hanging. 3 of which we knew of.

Six of us at Kenny dam area, going hard at it for 5 days and no kills. Saw moose, no bulls. Had a good time. Love campfire at night, stories, drinks and laughs is what it's all about for me at this point. Gotta be out for the rut next year as I think it's the way to go.

We were up there as well. I got an immy opening day (first moose I had seen in 6 days) and my bro got a nice bull on the last day. Only 2 bulls our group saw all week. I actually saw more grizz then I saw moose in the 2 weeks we were up there. But we didn't see much of any animals, even the fishing was slow until the last 2 days. The moon seemed to be a big factor this year.

Don't want to get him going but when I had to go out to the sh*thouse in the middle of the night, and had no need of a flashlight, I knew it would be slow for the animals. Add post rut to that and the moose seemed to be really happy staying still when the sun decided to come up.
