There is 6 of us staying at green lake. We have been all over and only have 1 cow sighting to show for it. Anyone out there have any good info on a decent area. Also is it to late to try calling (cow calling to trick a young bull). Any info would be awesome! Thanks guys and gals!

It is not too late to try, sometimes you can get a small one curious enough to show, I have done it later on in Nov before
Cant help on the area though.

You need to find your areas of good cover, and good food for the bull moose that are holed up and recovering from the rut. I don't know the area specifically, but that's where they will be. The tough part of course, is digging them out of there, but with 6 in your group, a good ole bush push with a few folks waiting on the other side of a high density food/cover area might be successful. Don't go looking for them on the roads in November...I have found around here (and we border 5-01) the moose aren't moving around much...you're gonna have to go in and find them probably. Second rut should be coming along in the next week to 10 days, so something might respond to calling.

Don't know how long the authorization is for, but waiting (if possible) until it's colder with some snow might help condense their prime feeding and bedding areas, allowing you to concentrate your efforts more rather than spreading them out.

hmm although I have spotted a fair bit of moose in the Green lake area...even later than now..most have been on private property...but they are there..

some good amount of bulls harvested in 5-01.. so far a bit east and north of green lake...

at this time of the year calling "may" pull in a young bull...but MuleyMadness..HIT THE NAIL on the head... look for food browsers..red willow..willow swamps etc..bedded in amongst the thicker stuff on DRY ground..

We are having some good success right now, having passed on 3 smaller bulls since opening day of our draw (Nov 1). They are out there. Really windy all day today and the animals didnt seem to be moving much. Not sure how long you guys are up here for, but it looks like we might see some snow next week which could help you guys out. We played around with the small guys a bit and they seem to still be responding to calls, so it doesnt hurt to try. Just dont be too aggressive with your calling. And like the other guys said, stick to willow patches and late fall feeding grounds. All the critters have to eat sometime!

Thanks everybody for all the replies and the PMs. We spent the day around Windy Mountain with no sightings or fresh signs.

ElliotMoose where have you been hunting to see 3 smaller bulls? Were not picky on the size and would settle for smaller bulls. Again, thanks for all the help folks!
