Went to check my trail cam and found it 15 feet from the tree and this is what showed up, kinda hard to tell, I've had a few opinions from friends just wondering what everyone else thinks.

I think it is a bear as well. At the begining of the clip you can see fangs. Just my thought.

At 8 seconds you can see a rack in the top right corner.

Either a bovine, deer or elk. I had a young bull elk absolutely destroy a trail cam last year. A few close ups of the bull and blackness. Broke the casing and the camera.

Its a deer... a buck! Pause at 0:09 seconds and those are antlers!

mattfreerider
10-31-2011, 06:47 AM
I had a 6 point elk attack my camera. I got a few picks of him then one shot of him charging the camera. 2 weeks later I found my camera on the ground by the tree. it took 4000 pics of a piece of grass blowing in the wind. from now on I put my camera about 10 feet up and angle it down, that seems to work good.

Looks like big eyebrows to me. I say a young cow as well. That vacant look in his eye is very familiar. The same look they give you as they jump in front of the truck.

10-31-2011, 07:12 AM
first clip is a solid front left canine...wolf or cyote.

Dolomite
10-31-2011, 07:20 AM
Looks like a dog type thing to me. I paused it where you can see the eye and took a screenshot but can't post it for some reason. Anyhooo...the eye has long brow hairs that look dog-like.

huntinnewbie
10-31-2011, 07:27 AM
I'll go for some kind of canine as well. Expressive eye brows with long guard hairs is very canine. Also the deer family tend to have elongated pupils rather than round pupils in their eyes.
Tooth, early on in the clip is a canine type. The deer family don'y have upper teeth in the front.
Eye just doesn't look small enough for a bear.

Absolute first impression is dog, after several loops I still think it's a dog of some sort. Tood bad there's no sound, you'd probably hear the owner egging it on in the background....

Porcupine ?? They chew anything and climb trees..Kinda looks like it to me..

It's not a deer, elk, moose, or cow because it definitely has canines. I think it is a young black bear. At one point near the end it really looks like a young bear's nose, but I could easily be convinced it's someone's dog.

Outstanding!

Definitely not a bear...totally wrong eyes. My best guess is dog/wolf. Eyes are about right and the teeth at the beginning definitely appear to be upper canine's.

I though dog, wolf, or coyote originally due to the eyes. But after slowing it down and watching frame by frame I have to vote for Deer. I missed the canines some people saw, but did observe what certainly appeared to be antlers. My vote is for a buck. Probably a 24 point, just to piss you off!!

Those antlers are the freaking eyebrows of the dog! It's all a matter of scale, they're a couple inches from the cam, ha ha!

Jelvis
10-31-2011, 09:46 PM
Those are qwillz from the porcupine that you say frilling out, it's a porcupine eye staring at the camera.
The porcupine was blinded by the light and now is sleeping with a pin cushion.

Ahh ha ha, nothing wrong with a good debate on any these threads, but come on, the eyes aren't even close let alone the facial profile!

There's so many people on here responding with the canine solution!

http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/data/500/porcupine_close.jpghttp://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/data/500/Untitled24.jpg

And, come on, a porcupine ain't going to rip a cam off the tree and drag it off...open those jelly bean eyes!

the image Hunting BC.CA copyright doesn't help portray the impact of the dog eye, not my fault....

The eye was squinting real tight because he was smelling the salt from the persons hands on the camera and wanted a bit real bad. His eyes were red and glassy from the internal flash.

Thats definitely bigfoot see that circle just down from the eye and towards the nose? Sasquatch trademark right there! Damn yeti ravaged my trail cam too! Sasqui (Plural) get very destructive and and angry when lonely in the rut! (Rut seems to start around October 31st and goes till December 7th) The rut lasts this long so that the bull Sasqui can find, track down and mate with the cow Sasqui, since there are so few of these precious creatures left.

Have to agree with the folks that say it is a canine. Long snout, canine eyes. Look at the clearest shot of the animal, the one with they eye showing. I looked at my lab from the same angle, his eyes, brows, and snout look quite similar and would you look at that! A few long ass hairs poking up out of his eye brows! Just like the picture....
I have no idea what a sasquatch looks like so you guys might still be on to something there... but it aint no deer!

so question is are you taking that camera back to that spot? I wouldnt, what if ghillies right, sasquatch rape doesnt sound quickly recoverable, ya cant claim either, or theyll lock you up. guess youd just have to live with it. but regardless im sure we all agree we need to see a better picture of that beast.lol
