I'm looking forward to my November goat hunt, is there anyone else out there as crazy as me that likes to hunt them mid to late November.
I like the long hair and seem to have lots of luck later, as a matter of fact I haven't even begun to think about heading out till just now and will probably go between the 10th and 25th of November.

I agree, my best goat was taken November 27th although I have had issues with to much snow and not being able to get into the area I wanted to hunt because of it but it is a risk you might just have to take hunting late.

I always do the early season but anytime is hunting time. Enjoy your hunt and be safe.

Hunted them at the end of November. The terrain can be treacherous at that time with ice, and snow.
It's a great time as the big Billies are a bit lower down.

I took my goat on Dec 6th last year in northwest BC. minus 15 C ....river froze over behind us...adventure of a lifetime.
My kid thought I was nuts. My goat, as far as the taxidermist was concerned, was the best he had seen that year. An absolutely beautiful long haired coat. Too each their own as far as when to harvest or hunt them....I just like the long hair that winter brings on.

I will keep you posted, I'm trying something new this year as well and am going to try and get one with my crossbow, just to add to the degree of dificulty and fun.

My hunting partner and I took an OK Billie 3 weeks ago (9 and 7/8ths). The plan is to go back in a couple of weeks and take a real beauty. I like it better late season because they are normally much lower down. The legs still feel the burn either way though!!!!

I've delayed my hunt a couple times. Current plan is to go Nov 25-30. I did a late season hunt a couple years ago in the same area and spotted a very nice Billy. Unfortunately, couldn't close the deal after a three hour climb in thigh deep snow. Some of the recent pics here on HBC are getting me pretty inspired.

4-24 zone b , About 3" of snow, Saw one good billie. the boy wanted him , But in a bad spot. 3" of snow is treacherous snow. I have had some close call's in years past with minimal snow cover, Not willing to take a chance with my 12 yr old son.

I got to hear the whole story of the hunt one night, I think it was about 4 hours long (the story only) and many of beers, and he made it feel like I was actually on the hunt with him. Incredible hunt

Goats is something I want to get in to but just don't know where to start

I think every late season goat hunt has some sort of long winded story

Mine involved a double header, tarps to slide them most of the way down the mountian, a canoe the rest of the way, snowshoes and a grumpy Harley White the next morning with two whole goats on his skinning room floor after the heat had melted the snow and him getting ready to go to saskatchewan hunting the next day.

Can't wait till this year.
