Geez, I expected to get on here this morning and hear all about everyones' successes of Saturday.. Prudy quiet.

We went out with Marc and Johnnybear yesterday to a field John has scouted and got permission on only to find someone else setting up. So....we set up across the field figuring they push/we push. It worked out to some degree, but for whatever reason only a goose brain can figure the birds really, really wanted to go to the side we weren't. We ended up downing 4 birds and then it was Dullsville for quite a spell. I suggested we go and have breakfast as I had a CORE exam to do just after lunch. Of course, no sooner were we almost all packed up to go and the geese start pouring in. There were waves of cacklers and big ones. Oh, well...there were kids in the group across the way and we saw they got a few, so that is great for them, like it when kids have fun out in the field.

Four is fine, easy plucking. Johnnybear "popped his goose cherry" as he referred to it. So, I think we may have hooked another waterfowler :)

Great meeting Johnnybear, hope he'll join us again sometime.

And...I know this post is pictureless...they forgot to take out the camera before the feathers.

Turned real quiet up Cedar way, last 2 trips have been just short of skunks( no not due to lack of shooting prowess lol) 2 teal and a widgeon Fri., 1 teal and a mallard yesterday. Geese have been flying over at Anti Aircraft height(heading for you guys by the sound of it lol). I was just telling Field Marshal I'm going to give the waterfowl a bit of a rest and wait for the northern birds to arrive and concentrate on my second deer. Hope things are more productive for every one else.

That curse of 4 seeems to be prevelant over there. PLEASE do your best to keep it on your side of the little pond, perhaps you should preform an excercisium
on that Foxton Gundogs before it spreads lol. All Tom Foolery aside good for you guys, ice morning.

Yesterday was a very fun morning. Thank you for the great hospitality and letting me tag along Tanya. Was really cool seeing the set up, the dogs working, and Marc and John's calling. Yup, first goose for me and I have it portioned in the slow cooker with a sweet bing cherry sauce right now getting ready for dinner!:-D
