I'm so glad an archer like me got his first one that way. I'm hopping for the same result soon.

I spotted him from a gravel road about 300 yards away, could glass him from pavement and did for a few . it took about 1 hour to get into a shooting range but every time I got close he woud walk the other way. wind was always in my favour , he just would walk the other way.....finally he came to the top of a ridge, ranged him 33 yards , counted the pins released and the arrow went just over his back???? dang! I was lucky my bow is quiet and there was a bit of wind rustling the trees , he did not even hear it.....
I relised that on the day before I had the first pin set at 10 yards , my bow shoots at 330 fps . i had moved the first pin to 20 yards.....I racked a new arrow and released and whammo just behind the front shoulder and came out just before the tenderloin.....but when it did come out it took out the spine.

the deer tumbled down the hill and ended up I put my truck 30 feet away....so perhaps it was just meant to be!
