I am trying to get info on the detour around the pink mountain [blueberry ] ranch. I have a bison tag for 7-57A and am looking for the route around the private land. All govt issued maps sent to me don`t really show the area very well and I am hoping that someone who has been there could enlighten me

From recollection.

Head through the ranch gates, down the road a couple km, turn right, trail splits stay left and you're off to the races. Trail comes back out on the road west of the ranch. Did it on snowmobiles, wouldn't attempt it on a quad.

Yup, take the Halfway River trail like GG mentioned. We attempted it in the first week of October this year, in the rain, trying to get through the gumbo, wasn't fun. Did see a boned out Bison carcass on the way.

if you are using guads my advice is to pay the access fee much easier and much faster. sleds are easier after things are frozen but still a lot slower. going through the ranch is much easier and faster for quads and sleds.

I agree we started on the trail but the ranch access was much quicker and easier.Just be sure to lock your vehicle in the corral as the horses will lick your truck for the salt.

FYI ranch trespass fee is up to $250 a man to go through.

The trail is crap, muskeg holes and all sorts of sh!t, but is it not part of the whole experience?

I found that if you travel along the fence line you can avoid most of the muskeg holes. Other than the couple hundred yards of adventure, the trail was good. Fee was 50.00 per person if you didnt go around. This was 2 years back

The trailhead is well marked before you get to the ranch

Did it last year on sleds. Gets hairy if there is not enough snow. We didn't even try the last couple days as it would have been a nightmare to get out if you didn't make one of the inclines
