I was in at MEC today (I know...shame shame) looking at the Hubba Hubba. One of the girls asked what I wanted it for and I said sheep hunting up north. Her reply was that it might be a little "breezy" for use in late summer in sheep country. Anyone used the Hubba Hubba for sheep in August and if so how did it stand up? The girl reccomended maybe looking at the MEC Gemini ES, but I felt like I'd ask about guys on here (who have used the tent for what I plan on using it for) how it stood up. Thanks in advance.

I used mine this past summer in August out in the Stein Valley. Overnight the temps dropped down to -5 or so at an elevation of 2300m and I had no issues at all with a -13 rated sleeping bag.

3rd year with mine and the frame has one bend in it now otherwise it's been a great tent, rain snow wind it's been good it's seen many days up north sheep hunting too, though the vestubles are a little small, next tent i'll look at will have one big vestuble on one end of the tent instead of 2 small ones, i find not enough room to change into gear with the small vestubles. Can't go wrong with the tent overall though.

Another option to consider in the MSR Carbon Reflex.

Carbon reflex looks nice, but I think If I was gonna drop 500 I'd just try and save up a little bit extra and snag an allak or jannu.

The Hubba Hubba HP is the exactly same tent but it doesnt have nearly as much mesh so it cuts down on the wind. Last year it was an extra 50 bucks and it weights less than the regular Hubba Hubba. The HP would suit your needs better than the regular Hubba

Truthfully, I much prefer the Carbon Reflex over the Hilleberg. It offers far superior ventilation and is more sturdy IMHO.

My brother and I both have Hubba Hubbas and they are a great tent for sheep hunting in august. Comfy, roomy, nice venstibules and very water tight. Highly reccomended.

I got a carbon reflex 2 for 399. I love it, super light, easy to set up. Never used it in any big wind so I don't know how 'breezy' it would be.
