While Deer hunting there was a man who was charged by a grizzly.
He got the shot off inevitably killing the bear.

Anyone hear about this?
Was wondering if I actually know the person

On the news
Dog initiated the attack, bear went for the dog. Owner defended dog and the bear went for him instead.
"lucky to have been carrying such a large bore rifle or the outcome may have been different" .444 to the rescue

I posted a thread last year about a grizzly I ran into in Lumby in the Harris Creek area. I have video of him and I know several other people had seen the same bear in the same area. He tried to get downwind of me and my hunting partner and came within 70 yards of us. A nice blonde fellow. Im wondering if it was the same bear as that area gets hunted hard. Anyone have any further details??

I resurrected the old thread as it has a photo of the G bear.

inevitably ?

Maybe the wrong words to use as english was not my strong suit in school... but what I was meaning is I wouldnt count on my 165gr from a 300WSM to drop a grizz in 2 shots without them being perfectly placed and in that situation it would be doubtful

^I shot a grizz in the spring, one shot with a 270. Died just like everything else. Pretty sure a 300 mag would work ok too.

Too bad about the bear, being taken down because of a dog, looked like a beauty from the pictures that were posted.

my nephew had to do it at 9 yards and it only took one from his 300wsm

30-30 worked pretty good at 20 yards.
