2011 region 8 elk closing day

im still in total disbelief,but here it is. went out to shoot any buck yesterday and ended up getting onto a herd of elk. managed to down this beauty 6 point at sunset,on closing day. searched until i was out of batteries in my headlight and flashlight and not a trace.my trusty old dog found him first thing this morning. Im STOKED!!!

and yes,ive got pics but the site says they 'are too large to upload' im not super swift with a computer,if someone can help post pics please help,he's a beauty

Check with your butcher but the meat can go bone sour after 8 hrs if the chest cavaty is not opened up. Either way, glad you found it.:-D

Seeing as now the season is over and you bagged a beauty..... Where in Region 8 did you stumble across this guy? I have been tracking the okanagan park herd for the past couple years and they always seem to be between Penticton and Arawana around this time of year. Bag him anywhere near there? There are more then likely more herds then just that one but thats the only one I have found as of now. Anyways congrats on an amazing beast.
