I took 2 black bears in spring season up in region 4. I am having a debate with a fellow hunter. I say I am done for Black Bear for rest of season in all of BC, he says I can still hunt Black bear?

You me both, we're DONE. Your counter argument is likely thinking you can have 2 in the spring and 2 in the fall. While I wish he was right as bear meat in my house is by far the most desired, but sadly that thinking is WRONG!!!

IIRC, the regs did change a few years ago to allow 2 bears in the same season - meaning spring or fall. Previously (I believe) you were allowed two bears per year, but only one spring and one fall bear. Annual limit of 2 bears hasnt changed. Perhaps this is what confused your friend?

If you had a trappers license and permission to 'trap' on private property, you could harvest two more black bears legally. Otherwise you're finished at two when using your hunting license. The trapping season for bears is usually Oct - May (and I dont mean you actually 'trap' a bear, you have to use a rifle/shotgun/bow)

Aware of that. Just bringing up the fact that it can be done.
