well after a few weeks off chasing muleys with the bow and the odd moose we had a pretty decent trip, my better half arrowed her first mule deer , she was pretty thrilled and I got to shoot a small bull moose, which was more work than I like to admit. got him with my little coyote gun!! 25-06 with 115 grainers he took 4 steps and died in the middle of the grass road.

nice trip......but now we know you are fibbing....everybody here knows you must use a .375H&H for moose....and only with surgeon precision like shot placement:lol:

Seriously......very nice archery mulie and a great bull

I have a 378 weatherby that will never leave the gun case, too pretty of a gun, that little ruger # 1 does everything I want it to do.

Where were you hunting and I don't mean specifics. Just that the Muley picture almost looks like it could be southern Alberta?

Well, OK since everyone is waiting for it and being polite, I'll tell you you're nuts to shoot a moose with a 25-06 but as long as it went down, I guess that's alright. Not something I would try. Good job on both. That mulie is a hog.

I think people who shoot does are nuts but thats my opinion and I try to be polite:eek: knowing where you gun shoots and what you can do with it are really important, and knowing your personal boundaries is another thing. I have also shot more deer elk and other critter than most people so I am pretty comfortable with putting a bullet where it counts, dont forget I shot that moose at less than 70 yards, I have also packed all the big guns you can mention, I dont feel the need for a massive cannon or big magnum any more. I own a 300 RUM and a 378 weatherby but my little guns are far more fun to pack and to shot, I am not usually a road hunter so a small gun to me makes a difference. Thats why I have a new HS precision on order as of this sept. in .270 coming.

Hmmm... didn't I just read that you just shot your first muley? The armchair hunters sure know alot these days... I've killed a bunch of animals with a sharp stick and that makes a lot smaller hole than a 25-06... I don't shoot 'em in the a$$ though... 8-)
