Didnt get to do a write up as I was right back into the swing of things guiding sturgeon fisherman and salmon fisherman every day but here it goes

After my last day of fishing with Rudysteelhead and his family I left the the river with the boat in tow, I was planning on leaving that night for the trip if everything was packed. unfortunatly the front end on my truck blew apart and almost killed me as I was going accross the bridge in deroche, after trying to source parts then realize it wasnt going to happen I ended up getting the truck towed home and the boat put in the water for Chad one of our guides to run while I was gone, I got home at 2 am that morning...but luckily a good freind came over early the next Am and we had the front end rebuilt by noon on thanksgiving day then to Canadain tire for a quick alighnment. so we finished packing and headed off to the East koots to kill a bull the drive up was smooth and the truck purred its way there... as we got off the highway a group of 15-18 year old girls went past doing about 100k per hour on the gravel, 5 KM up the road we found them flipped over off the embankment. so we drove them back to the highway where they called for help... so back up we went.... set up camp and got everything ready for the next morning....

day one started slow but we found some massive rubs and good sign... the afternoon was decent with the sighting of a bull in a basin that was a small 6 we left him be for a few days in case we needed to be desperate...
the next few days were about the same with seeing a bull a day but not what we were looking for, I almost shot a midget bull on day 5 as he was the size of a big Muley buck buck witha 6 point rack no taller than 2 feet but we spared him as it would have been pretty embarrassing....
finally Radine Told me she wanted to cut a deer tag so I took her out to zip a whitey doe.... an hour later she nocked one down

day six I got into the bulls and the cows and had a great evening hunt. just didnt connect
day seven was a good day we got out ealry in the evening Radine went one way I went the other, I had been seeing lots of cows in one slid so keep going back there to see what showed up, today there was nothing there but the sun was warm and I had a snooze on the mountain side... when I woke up the sun was creasting the mountains and I had to get to the spot I wanted to hunt....as I neared where I wanted to hunt the lighting was good and the wind was great, I climbed into the basin only to be dissapointed that there was no elk around.... but there was three cow moose feeding on the ridge top 300yds away. I watched them for about 5 minutes when all of a sudden the three cows were looking into the bottom of the ridge that I could not see, I sat there telling myself I would give it 5 minutes... about 3 minutes in, 8 cows appear coming up the hill. but no bull with them.... I kept cow calling softly while they fed up the ridge... then I hear to the left of me the weakest bugle I have ever heard.... and it sounded quite a ways away... as I sat there watching the cows I just happend to look to my left and here not 80 yds away is a bull coming over the hill a quick count confirmed that he was a solid six and three quick shots latter he was on the ground....
