Hey all,
Just wondering what your seeing for chickens out there... I usually see quite a few up around squamish and in the cariboo...

This year I have been shocked with their lack of presence. Ive seen one grouse in squamish, 2 up around hope and 5 in 100 Mile House, along with 6 ptarmigan in 100 Mile House... Numbers are way down from what Im used to seeing...

How about other areas? anyone else noticing a lack of chickens or is it business as usual where you've been hunting?... Wet spring was rough on the chicks I suspect.

done quite well so far, 7 in the freezer now; got 5 grouse last saturday East of Merritt, had to leave 2 sitting in a tree, since I had my 5 for the day, good thing too since I ran into a CO about 5 min.'s later and they were still warm, although he never checked the back of the truck/canopy

been hunting up near 100 mile as well and havent seen a grouse all year. the wet spring really seemed to do major damage to the population this year

Bad for me in the North Thompson. Hiked many miles, and I have seen 2 ruffed, 3 blues.

I was out west of 100 mile for 2 days moose hunting and we would run into 10 or so a day, quite a few of them were when we were hiking but still saw a decent amount on the roads. Have only seen a dozen or so around the okanogan and I have been in the bush alot.

i seen three big fat blue grouse before they were open. since they opened i have seen bout 8 and we have shot 3 of the 8, lots of people i talk to havent been seeing very many. i was talkin to some one and they were sayin they go on cylcles just like salmon every so many years the numbers go down and down each year and then they pick up again. i dont know how much truth there is to that. or there is truth to it but numbers are still lower even with the cycles.
