Small bucks already chasing does around

I was watching a couple of 2 point mulies yesterday with some does. The smaller one started thrashing some brush and a small pine tree, then he poked one of the does out of her bed and put the run on her. The larger one climbed up a bit to get some height advantage on the little one. I know these little guys will have the run put on them by a big guy in about 6 weeks' time, and they have little chance of breeding a doe. It was fun watching the pre-rut behaviour. It seems at this time of the year the smaller bucks travel with the does a lot.

Anyone else seeing this too?

p.s. the bigger of the two was a fat pig, and dwarfed the other buck...he looks kinda tastey for the Oct 1 any buck season! :biggrin:
