Are the elk up north in their second rut ?

just wondering if any northern boys are hearing the elk bugle, l hear they go into second rut, end of October.

lots of bugling going on in the peace right now

I was up in the peace 1st week of Oct, there was lots bugling Oct 7th. This was a surprise to the locals as they felt the Elk rut for the most part was over. Also advised there was very little elk rut activity in September. A farmer who is also an elk hunting commented that the hunters numbers were very heavy this year and the Elk may had been spooked. Shy critters.

Good news is that can tell you that there are big elk, because I took home a 6 pointer. Good luck.

Had good bugling mid September around here. Haven't heard a peep since about September 25th.
