There are a lot of guys out there with trail cams these days. How many have actually killed an animal that they caught on their camera? PICS?!? Were you targeting that specific animal?

I find that they're a useful tool to know what animals are in the area, but they often nocturnal or change their habits after summer... Here's one. Not the one that we were after, but he'll do...

Was just thinking about that today. The moose I shot a few weeks ago would have been in full view of my trail camera when I shot him.

Except that some loser stole my camera.

I found a shed from a big buck that I got pics of on my camera but have yet to get one of the bucks that I have pics of

my whitetail buck from last year, was taken infront on my trail cam. I was baiting for whiteys and targeted this buck, and lucky enough to have it all work out. this year after a whitetail buck again. got one all picked out. haven't seen him for the last 2 weeks so maybe someone elso got him already, but there is lots of time left. if he doesn't show I will try for one of the "smaller" ones I have seen on my camera.

this picture was taken by my trail cam seconds before I shot.

I was late buying my Muley tag in Sept and had a 4 point Muley broadside 100 yards away, turned out its the same one I had on my camera a few times, didn't get to pull the trigger.

The last 3 years, I have shot whitetails I had on camera. 2 of them were ones I was targeting. The 3rd one was a last day of the season buck for some sausage. Just starting to get my trail cameras out there. Hope is to do the same this year

Right on boys! Nice bucks Ponderosa & Rodd - congrats!

Cool Brian, What elevations & how far from the cam did you find the shed?

I've only killed a bull that I had on the cam. It wasn't the one I was after, but a good one. A cool feeling when it finally comes together.
I was after some whiteys & muleys that I had mugshots of, but didn't have much time to hunt 'em. Keeps you dreamin' though... it's like Christmas.

I feel your pain - some loser stole mine this summer...

my dad got a 4 point that we had on trail cam last year and also got a 3 point this year that was also on trail cam. I have had 3 in the area since July and none of them caught the 6x7 that I dropped a few weeks ago...he came out of nowhere! I think they are a useful tool but generally just like collecting pics!

i agree with cyrus they are an awsome tool. for someone like myself I don't have the time to do lots of walking in the bush and i am unable to do most spot and stalks ( 2 wee ones with me all the time!) that putting out a trail cam is my best option, to see what is out there. I usually keep at least 1 of my cameras up all year long, just to get pics of all the animals. so far this fall I have gotten almost 5000 pics off my cameras. and some of the stuff caught on tape is awsome!

I had an old style trail camera once with 35mm film. Got one roll of a bunch of clouds and a little forky and then the camera ate the second roll and never worked again. Never bothered to try the newer cameras as I have a few buddies that have pretty much been shut out on any good pics of big bucks. Best shots were of a lion and then the next shot was of me.
But I have managed to take pics or video of numerous bucks that we later harvested but of course I was the one tripping the camera instead of the animal and the sensor.

Some people have more time & than money... whatever works & THAT definitely works for you, Steve! Mass N Trash was an awesome legacy of a buck & I can't wait for the next NT hawg that you put down.

Yeah, only dinks ever show up on trail cams... ;)
