Hey all, I'm new to the forum, and (soon to be) a new hunter. To be honest, I don't even have my PAL yet, but I'm beginning to go through the CFSC book so hopefully I'll have it soon. Hunting has always captured my imagination, ever since I can remember I've enjoyed sitting with my uncles and listening to their stories, and having this incredible desire to just get out into the back country and have the same experiences they had. To me, it's not just about the going out and shooting something, it's about seeing mountains and valleys that very few people will ever see. I'm excited to glean as much information as possible from this forum, and I've enjoyed reading peoples stories and seeing their pictures.

My dear old dad came home with that one one day. My reaction was about the same as yours.

We go out in the woods all year long and enjoy it and a succesful hunt doesnt have to involve bringing home an animal although it is a nice reward. Get out and enjoy the woods you can learn to hunt all year long and the more time in the woods the better your season will be. Welcome to hunting it can be an obsession.

I don't know how many of you live east of Langley, but it is an incredibly beautiful day today. I was out near the Vedder doing some errands and man were those mountains calling my name!
