Just got back from a nice trip to Clinton for LEH bull moose. After arriving on monday and making camp we went to a couple spots I had pre scouted last year and started our cow calls. The first place we went definatly held moose but dad talked me out of continuing to hunt there as it would have been about a 2 day job to bring something out if we got one. Day two back to our second spot and more calling. Saw a cow on the way there so there was some promise. After 2 hours of calling and waiting and nothing we head back to the quad to go try another spot. about 100 yards from the quad we hear crash crash and I get a glimpse of a little bull heading off.Should have waited another hour I guess. Back that evening for more calling and waiting but he wouldnt come back. So we get on the quad and cruise back towards camp with about 15 mins of legal light left. well wouldnt you know it come around the corner and there are two moose on the road! Thank you! Boom goes the 30-06 and we have a nice bull with about 2 minutes light left to spare.
We got him into findlay meats in 100mile the next day by lunch and now it was time to relax and enjoy a few beautiful south Cariboo october days.He dressed out at 537lbs.
We also met another member from the site here who leases out the moondance guest ranch there, Chris, heck of a good guy.We are already planning a bit of ice fishing this winter on Big Bar.

Good job on the Moose, nice when there's not to much dragging involved !
By the way we met Chris (300R.U.M.Grizzly-HBC) about a year ago as my Nephew bought a rifle from him,he's a first class gentleman and was great to deal with,we try to stop in for a visit when up that way.

Great job on the moose I bet you can't get one much closer to home than that.

about 4 1/2 hours drive to get there from Mission. What makes it even more special was that I grew up in Clinton so It was like going back to hunt in our old backyard.
